INC Giving: Teacher Appreciation Night

Last Friday, May 27th, the locale of Redwood City held their Teacher Appreciation Night. The children reached out to their teachers and invited them for a fun filled evening.  The kids performed a few musical numbers, put together a gallery, and put together gift baskets with things teachers need in the classroom.

This is the banner at the entrance of our function hall.

For those of you who don’t know, INC Giving is a community outreach program that the church has.  Also if you don’t know, INC stands for Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) in Filipino.  This community outreach program is not just for our locale of Redwood City, but all of the locales around the world.  Every locale sponsored their Teacher Appreciation Night / Day as well as many other activities.  That is how united the church is.

This is the gallery that the kids created.  They wrote why they like their teacher and added some art to their message.

The first number the kids sang for their teachers’ was about how much they wanted to learn.

The older “kids” sang an acapella version of “Music of My Heart” by NSYNC and Gloria Estefan.  They had some pretty awesome harmonies.

This is Brother Lyndon and his daughter Samantha.  Awwww, how sweet!

These are the awesome teachers that were able to attend this event.  They were recognized for their hard work and given certificates and gift bags as a token of our appreciation for them.

See how awesome our gift bags look?  Each have the INC Giving logo on it so that more people become aware of our activities as well as the church itself.

The last song the kids performed was a song about everyone’s favorite past time, recess. Can’t you see how excited these kids are?  They really did a great job putting on a show because these kids are very talented and will go very far in life.

Just walked around after the main event while everyone socialized and took pictures.

Gosh these kids are too cute.  At first they didn’t want to have their pictures taken, but eventually they turned around.

Yeah. . . her teacher rides a motorcycle.

Even the youngest ones who don’t have teachers yet still have fun and support these activities.

More supporters!

Brother Abe, Me, and Sister Gail.

I hope you enjoyed this post because I really had a fun time attending and writing about this activity.  Hopefully, I have given you a little insight of some of the activities our church has and maybe you will be interested in checking it out.

I want to give a big congratulations to those who put this whole shebang together. Indeed it was a very successful night.  Your hard work and enthusiasm is very inspiring.

Also, a very big thank you to all of the teachers who were able to make it.  Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come and let us show you how much you mean to us. To see how much of an impression you make on the children really shows us how dedicated you are in molding the younger generations.  Hopefully many more teachers will show up the next time we have this activity again!
